Walking & Mobility
Moving as safely as possible
Definition
Mobility assessment and support — understanding gait changes, fall risks, assistive devices, and strategies for maintaining movement safely.
When walking becomes hard
Balance declines. Muscles weaken. Fear of falling makes people move less, which makes them weaker, which increases fall risk. The cycle accelerates.
Mobility strategies
I help assess gait and balance, recommend appropriate assistive devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs), arrange physical therapy if needed, and teach safe transfer techniques.
Staying mobile
Movement is life. Even if someone can't walk independently, we find ways to maintain mobility, prevent contractures, and preserve the ability to participate in daily activities.
